Junaid Dar and Dariusz Kowalczyk are not your typical finance entrepreneurs. Their journey, founding BITWARD, was not paved by traditional investment banking routes or elite business schools—it was built through early identification of opportunities, calculated risks, and an unrelenting work ethic.
Their story started with a simple idea and a bold move. At 21, they began building websites for small local businesses. The small-scale operation quickly gained traction, generating €10,000 in revenue. Recognizing the opportunity to scale, they moved operations offshore to Pakistan, where Junaid’s family is from, and expanded the team to 60 employees. This experience was pivotal—it taught Junaid and Dariusz how to scale a business, manage teams, and navigate global markets.
Not content with just one success, and coupled with an early understanding of risk vs. reward, they launched, scaled, and exited multiple businesses in eCommerce, dropshipping, IT solutions, and digital marketing. Their ventures weren’t always smooth, but they shaped a mindset that embraced balanced risk-reward opportunities.
It was in the world of crypto and blockchain that Junaid and Dariusz found the breakthrough they had been searching for. Having built a strong network of ambitious entrepreneurs, they saw firsthand how private investment opportunities in crypto were outperforming traditional markets. Junaid and Dariusz embedded themselves into the space, trading, and exploring other assets and opportunities such as bitcoin mining. Marcelo Barros is a senior IT manager with over 20 years of experience in software development and data analysis. His past experiences include executive management of large teams in multinational tech companies and the delivery of complete software solutions for finance, crypto, commerce and health sectors. Has a Master's degree in Computer Science and an MBA in Strategic Management.
His strengths lie in project, product and people management, having acted as Head of Development and Executive Project Manager. Past crypto experiences include token launch support and investment analysis. At Bitward, Marcelo leads all IT and Data operations.
Alexandre Morais is an experienced researcher with a background in Electrotechnical Engineering, providing him with a strong foundation in mathematics and analytical thinking. With a presence of over three years within the Web3 space, he brings valuable insights into emerging technologies and market trends. Alexandre has also contributed to the global crypto community through his work in translation for an international cryptocurrency-focused YouTube channel. At the company, he is responsible for conducting in-depth fundamental research, supporting chart analysis, and preparing comprehensive documentation and general research.
